Hi, my name is Chef Dee Lennox and I have been the owner of a successful catering business for over 20 years. I started Culinary Legacy, LLC in homage to my mother, Radhica, who was hugely instrumental in helping me pursue a career in the field of culinary arts, many years ago. She was known for saying that her dishes were “made with love”. She shared her love for food with family, friends, and even strangers. This love has inspired me to want to live the very same way and to share a little bit of her with you.
Family Traditions
As a young girl, growing up in Trinidad and Tobago and then later in Brooklyn, New York, I watched my mother cook amazing food. As memory serves, my first hands-on job in the kitchen was making the 3-ingredient Carrot Salad for our weekly Sunday meal. Both parents could cook very well but I want to share about my mom’s unique point of view on food. She would combine spices and flavors and used whatever we had in the pantry to produce the most flavorful dishes. I always wondered how she did it until one day I asked her to share some recipes with me. I happily wrote them down but noticed she was always saying a pinch of this and some of that. ;o)
My mission for starting this company was to be able to share with you some of Mom’s favorite recipes, starting with her seasoning and hot sauce. The seasoning was a blend of traditional fresh herbs and spices. And because WE ARE TRINI’S (from Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies), hot sauce was a “meal-time staple” and was ALWAYS on the table. So, join me on this journey while I share some of Mom’s most favorite recipes with you, and along the way, we can learn how other foodies, like you, are using it to bring BIG flavors to their lives.
